What is Shears?

Shears is a web app that turns long videos, podcasts and stream VODs into short clips for Shorts, Reels and TikTok. You paste a YouTube, Twitch or Kick link or upload a file, and Shears picks the moments that stand on their own, edits each one and captions it word by word.

Works with
YouTube, Twitch and Kick links, and uploaded video files at least 5 minutes long.
You get
Vertical 9:16 or 16:9 clips with word-timed captions, a hook title and a cover image.
Picking moments
The transcript is ranked for moments, then an editorial pass drops cuts that start mid-sentence or end before the payoff.
Styles
Dynamic, where the AI picks the edit for each clip, plus fixed styles such as big type and Subject Mask, which puts text behind the speaker.
Languages
Captions follow the spoken language, including English, Spanish, French and German. Hindi is captioned in Roman script (Hinglish).
Editing
Every clip opens in an editor with a timeline: trim, restore cut material, reframe or restyle, then render again.
Price
Free for 3 videos a month. Pro is $10 a month for 50 videos. Scale is $50 a month for 300 videos.

Which videos can I use with Shears?

Shears works with YouTube, Twitch and Kick links and with video files you upload. Videos need to be at least 5 minutes long.

How much does Shears cost?

Free for 3 videos a month. Pro is $10 a month for 50 videos. Scale is $50 a month for 300 videos. The free plan clips the first 60 minutes of each video.

Does Shears support Hindi and Hinglish captions?

Yes. Hindi speech is transcribed and captioned in Roman script (Hinglish) instead of Devanagari. Captions in other languages, such as Spanish, French and German, follow the language that is spoken.

Can I edit the clips Shears makes?

Yes. Each clip opens in an editor with a timeline where you can trim it, bring back material the auto-cut removed, switch between vertical and 16:9, change the style and render it again.

Can Shears clip livestreams?

Yes, from recorded streams: paste a Twitch or Kick VOD link. Clipping a stream while it is still live runs on our own channels today and is not available in accounts yet.

Can Shears post clips for me?

Not from accounts yet. We use it to schedule and post our own clips to YouTube today, and it is coming to accounts. For now you download the finished files and post them yourself.
